Born and raised in Cologne, Germany, Jeanette Buerling has worked in a vast majority of the entertainment industry. Over a span of 20 years and stretching across two continents, Buerling has been involved in writing, development, production, acquisition, international sales, international co-productions and all facets of entertainment finance (including gap, mezzanine, Tax Credit, co-production financing, licensing and equity financing).

Her career started in 1989 at RTL Television in Cologne, Germany. For the next five years she worked on RTL’s daily entertainment shows, including German adaptations of Price is Right, Family Feud, Jeopardy, Gong Show, Candid CameraMini Playback Show, and Scrabble. She then left to produce 52 episodes of the one-hour daily show Fun for the Leo Kirch network DSF. In 1993 Jeanette moved to Munich, where she produced various television films and series, as well as feature films for ARD/WDR (BR) and Pro Sieben. The ARD/WDR series Wildbach was one of the networks highest ranking one-hour drama series for 5 consecutive years. The Pro Sieben  thriller Kreis der Angst launched the career of Germany’s top director, Thomas Jauch.

Buerling’s development, packaging and co-production capabilities introduced her to the Hollywood film industry. In 1999 she immigrated to the United States with her then 11-year-old daughter Verenice. She started her own production company in Los Angeles and produced the Warner Bros turnaround comedy project Timeshare starring Nastassja Kinski, Timothy Dalton and Kevin Zegers (distributed by Fox and Constantin Films). In 2004, she was hired by Far East National Bank in Los Angeles, to run their equity film finance funds Hollywood International finance and Camden Worldwide Equities. The funds combined invested into 38 titles for HBO, Showtime, ABC, USA Network, Disney, Lionsgate, and others. Films included Harvard Man (Lions Gate Films) with Sarah Michelle Gellar and Adrian Grenier, Rent Control (ABC/Disney) with Melissa Joan Hart and A Case of Evil (USA Network) with Gabrielle Anwar and Vincent D’Onofrio.

Jeanette Buerling is President of the film finance and production company Magnet Media Group (MMG). Since its launch late 2008, MMG has been focusing on high-concept commercial and cast-driven features, in the budget range of up to $40 million.  Magnet Media Group’s films include academy award winning talent in front and behind the camera, and are distributed successfully worldwide. MMG is backed by British, Dutch and German Investments, and is located in Beverly Hills, Cologne and London. MMG is a media and entertainment company, focusing on creating, financing and producing entertainment content across multiple platforms and resources. During the last 18 months, Jeanette Buerling financed and produced 3 films in the mid-twenty million dollar budget range: the Paramount Vantage thriller 13, directed by Gela Babluani (Sundance winner with 13 Tzameti), starring Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, Sam Riley, Ray Winston, Michael Shannon and 50 Cent;  the Sony Pictures thriller The Experiment, directed by Paul Scheuring (writer, producer of Prison Break), starring two academy award-winning actors, Adrien Brody, Forrest Whitaker and Cam Gigandet. She recently finished thriller Dark Tide, an official treaty co-production between South Africa and the UK, starring academy award-winning actress Halle Berry and with Olivier Martinez. The film is directed by Blue Crush and Into the Blue director John Stockwell.

In May 2011, Jeanette Buerling launched in Cologne, Germany Magnet Media Productions GmbH, which together with Magnet Media Group LLC, MMG recently established the European based entertainment finance division Magnet Media Finance (MMF). MMF’s investment volume to projected to be  150 million Euros, with focus on financing and production of entertainment content that can be presented across multiple platforms, world-wide.

Jeanette Buerling holds an MBA from the University FH Cologne and a business bachelor degree from IHK Aachen. She also studied screenplay writing at USC, Los Angeles. Buerling is a member of the Producers Counsel for The Producers Guild of America, an Executive Member of Women in Film and a member of the Cannes Film Festival Producer’s Network. She is furthermore the Co-Chair of Film Finance Forum Zurich in cooperation with the Zurich Film Festival, Winston Baker, and Variety. To date, Jeanette Buerling has been involved in over 45 film and television projects with a total production volume of over $200 million. Her focus is to bring high-quality, character driven main-stream stories to the screen.

Michele Ohayon joins Magnet Media Group as VP of Production and Development, in addition to an illustrious on-going career as a director, writer (WGA), and producer (PGA). She matriculated from Tel Aviv University, studying Film & Television, and shortly thereafter received the Israeli Best Film Award for her debut film Pressure (1984). Her next film, It Was a Wonderful Life (1987), aired nationally on PBS and OXYGEN, winning awards at the Houston Film Festival and an International Documentary Association (IDA) nomination.

Her next film, Colors Straight Up (1997), aired all over the world and earned Michele a slew of prestigious accolades, most notably an Academy Award and Directors Guild of America (DGA) and IFP nominations as well 12 other national awards. Michele’s follow-up features have included Cowboy Del Amor (2005) SXSW winner of both Jury and audience award, and Aired on ShowTime, Steal a Pencil for Me (2007), which premiered at the United Nations and aired on PBS, picking up major awards at the Jerusalem Film Festival, Sonoma Festival Audience Award, the Spirit of Anne Frank and the IDA ABC/Video Source recognitions.

Michele’s recent film (2011), S.O.S/State of Security (2011), opened at the MOMA in NYC and at the Berlinale. Her films have screened at noteworthy festivals such as Berlin, Sarajevo, Bergen, Hawaii, Chicago, San Francisco, Toronto, Amsterdam, and Seattle.

Michele served on various international festival’s juries, and also lectured at UCLA, AFI, UVA, Stanford, Berkley, Wesleyan, Chapman University and more. Frank Wegerhoff studied sports, geography and history in Cologne,Germany.  He started his TV career as an assistant director for DEUTSCHE WELLE and worked for RTL TELEVISION as a freelancing editor. After a successful run, he was offered an in-house producing position at RTL in 1991 as well as at RTL2 in 1994. During this time he worked on over 12 different shows at their entertainment division.

As a freelance producer and director, he produced a candid camera show, Voll Erwicht, for the German Network ZDF , directed comedy clips for RTL’s Fischers, TM3’s Mangold and several music videos for VIVA. Mr. Wegerhoff also producied reality shows and documentaries such as RTL’s Notruf , WDR’s Vorfahren gesucht/ Was ist passiert? and KABEL1’s Helden der Kreisklasse.

He also independantly produced and directed several short films: Per Anhalter (1998), Lehrer aus Leidenschaft (2002) and Achterbahn (2006).  Achterbahn won five audience awards in Germany for best short film.  His last short film, Der geheime Freund was nominated in Tokyo and Chicago in the international Best Short Flm category.

Wegerhoff joined Magnet Media Group in January 2011 and heads their offices in Cologne, Germany.

Originally born and raised in Germany where he studied photography and worked as a freelance editor, director and creative producer for all major television networks in Germany. He has produced over 200 film and TV trailer’s, which included blockbusters like Schindlers List, Jurassic Park, Ghost Busters and Batman, just to name a few.

Grisha moved to the United States after being accepted into the Conservatory of Motion Picture, Television, and Recording Arts at Florida State University.

It was there that his background in Germany began to influence his creative work, creating a unique blend of European and American style. After graduating with honors from F.S.U., Grisha moved with his family to Los Angeles, to pursue a career in Hollywood.

Since then Grisha has shot and edited more than ten features and shorts, many commercials and music video’s. In addition, he has directed music videos, short films and documentaries.

Grisha shot his first feature film Devils Highway in 2003 to critical acclaim. At the 2005 New York International Independent Film and Video Festival, Grisha’s work as a Cinematographer has helped garner the film a prize for “Best Cinematography.” He edited his first independent American feature, You Are Free in 2006, which earned him yet another award for “Best editing.”

Recently, Grisha’s work on the environmental documentary Harmony, starring HRH The Prince of Whales, directed by Academy Award Winner Stuart Sender, helped earn the film, the Cinema of Piece Award at the Berlin Film festival, as well as a 2011 Grammy nomination.

Aside his fundamental and up-to-date knowledge of the technical world of filmmaking, Grisha has developed a strong interest in producing. Ever since he has worked as supervising producer and helped many Indy and Studio productions to finish and deliver projects under the toughest and most cost effective schedules. His vast experience in production and post-production has helped already dozens of production companies to save costs without sacrificing quality.

His ambitions don’t stop here. With twenty years experience in the production and post-production field, Grisha feels ready and is currently developing a few genre screenplays and is working on his directorial debut of his first feature film.

Grisha Alasadi, has joined MMG’s team in 2009 and helped with every aspect of the film making process of titles like 13, The Experiment, and Dark Tide to name a few.

Verenice Buerling, born in Germany, immigrated to the United States in 2000. She has been working as a singer, songwriter and producer for over 10 years. At the age of nine she starred as the second lead in the musical “Annie” which was performed in the “Deutsche Theater” in Munich for a run of three years. Her voice was trained early, and she continued to perform as a singer on stage in Europe and the US. As a songwriter she writes for film, TV and music publishing companies, as well as other major and independent artist.  At age 13 Verenice wrote and recorded her first song for a film. “You Can’t Stop Me” was placed in the film Aunt Agatha’s Apartment, a DISNEY /ABC comedy (Melissa Joan Hart, Carmen Electra).  In 2004, at age 16, the young singer/songwriter continued placing her music in movies such as the academy award winning indie movie Living Life.

In 2007 Verenice started working at Regent MB (a film finance and production company) as an film production assistant, working in the areas of production, financing, marketing, development, and distribution.

In 2008 Verenice was given the position of Marketing Executive at Magnet Media Group, to handle product integration. During that time she was placed at Spark Alliance Marketing and immerged into non-film related marketing strategies, such as alliance marketing, guerilla marketing, social media marketing as well as sponsorship, branding, and charity work.  In 2010 she founded VereVerse Music Publishing and released her debut Album “Perfectly Imperfect”. She owns a fully staffed recording studio and records artists such as Skratch of The WuTang Clan.

She shifted her focus to music completely in 2010, when she moved into the position of the Director of Music for the Magnet Media Group. She furthermore serves as a consultant with the Cutting Edge Group since 2009, where she is involved in the areas of music in filmed entertainment, library and publishing, licensing, management and administration, legal and music investment strategies. She continued to place music in movies such as Triple Dog, The Fall Of Hyperion, and more. In 2010 and 2011 Verenice and VereVerse Music Publishing placed music in the popular TV show Tosh.0 (Daniel Tosh), and in movies such as Dark Tide (Halle Berry), Never Back Down 2, 13 (Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke), You Got Served 2: Beat The World and more.

Verenice has worked with music legends such as Ervin Pope (Producer to The Game, Kanye West, Janet Jackson), George Brown (Drummer/Producer for Kool and The Gang), Alex Teamer (producer for Colby O’Donis, Sean Kingston), Joe Jackson (producer to Skratch and Shadow from WuTang, London Shover, and Bobby Brown), Jerry Deaton (Producer to Will Smith, Jenifer Love Hewitt), Ghost Kasen (producer to Ashanti, Ja Rule), Pat Anthony (Producer to Usher), Dieter Dirks (The Scorpions, Michael Jackson), Claudio Pagonis (Tinseltown Music at EMI Studios in Cologne), and The Messengers (producers for Justin Bieber, Chris Brown).

She recently joined forces with her producing team in Germany and created the music production arm Cola Music Group, along with producers Joe Jackson (Jaxxon Entertainment) and Pat Anthony (Dizzy Red Productions).

Her career as an Associate Producer started in 2010 with The Experiment (Adrien Brody, Forest Whitaker) and 2011 with Dark Tide (Halle Berry).

Kimberly A. Ray has been producing films since 1996.  A graduate of Kent State University with a degree in Telecommunications and Theatre, she started off her career after college by working in the advertising field.

She was a copywriter and voice-over artist in Cleveland, Ohio.  Ms. Ray won several ADDY awards for her work in the field. In 1995 she decided to move to California to pursue a career in the film and television industry.

As soon as she arrived she wrote a spec Seinfeld script and earned spot in the prestigious Warner Brothers Sitcom Writers Workshop.

After writing and script doctoring several scripts Kept with Ice-T, Mom Can I Keep Her with Justin Berfield, and many others, she decided producing was for her.

She has produced and line produced over 40 films including  American Bandits with Peter Fonda, Super Shark with John Schneider, and Woke Up Dead with John Heder.

Ms. Ray is married to the Director Fred Olen Ray and has two children, Max and Anthony Ray.

Jeff Andrick has over twenty years of entertainment finance and related experience. Most recently, he served as Managing Director of Continental Entertainment Capital, a specialty financing and merchant banking venture with Citigroup, which deployed a variety of debt, mezzanine and equity capital through project, slate, corporate and structured finance transactions. Through his boutique advisory company he founded in 2000, XL.Ent Media Group, Mr. Andrick’s clients have ranged across financial institutions, Forbes 400 and other large investment groups and private investors, studio-based and independent production companies, international sales agents and U.S. distributors. XL.Ent engagements have included strategic advisory, planning and modeling for production, distribution, P&A, international and U.S. soft money structures, television production, media buying, bridge/finishing funds, distressed and other library transactions, and a music label restructure. Mr. Andrick is a principal with a studio-based producer in Pacific Media & Entertainment, a venture centered in a planned slate of theatrical feature releases. Mr. Andrick has evaluated, negotiated and arranged financing for hundreds of films, and has extensive global industry relationships in film and new media.

Mr. Andrick helped found and ran the Entertainment Industries Group at Comerica Bank, a US$50B commercial bank, where he served as First Vice President and Group Manager and was responsible for all industry lending and related banking activities. Mr. Andrick also helped found and build the Entertainment Industries Group at Imperial Bank, and began his entertainment lending career at City National Bank in 1987. Mr. Andrick performed an asset management/ investment role with Shearson Lehman Hutton’s real estate investment banking unit, and separately helped form an international real estate joint venture.

Corinna is a lawyer, journalist and PR Consultant who has worked in Germany for many years honing both her publicity and management skills.

She studied management training at the Federal Chancellery, then studied law. Her interests led to the entertainment industry, particularly German television.  From 1999 to 2003 she was a publicist for Harald Schmidt’s Bonito TV, Cologne.  There she served as press officer and oversaw the Harald Schmidt Show promotion and editorial.

For her journalistic work was Corinna Busch won numerous awards, including the 2001 Grimme Prize. In recent years, she has completed Postgraduate study in communication and rhetoric at the University of Bochum. and has been very involved in charity, founding Sargebot.De, a charity portal which helps celebrities and organizations raise money for worthy causes.
